Medium format transparencies are the raw material for all of the images, from which color-corrected, high-resolution scans have been produced. They are then printed on the Methusaleh of color papers, Fuji Crystal Archive, whose life expectancy is a whopping 60-70 years. (Because of the inherent shortcomings of a computer’s monitor, there may be variances in color and/or density between the website rendition and the finished print).

The photo depicted here are full-frame; to record that much information, they must be produced with a border. Conventional dimensions (8 x 10, 11 x 14 etc.) all sacrifice some content. If that’s a critical factor, before the order is placed I could tell you how much Will be lost at a specific size.

If standard print sizes don’t fit the bill, a customized photograph can be created. I’ll need to know the exact height and width you have in mind, so I can determine how much the appearance of the image you see on the screen will be altered. Working together, we can cook up just about any configuration you need.

Now there is a beautiful alternative to the materials upon which photographs have long been printed. This paper exhibits the same elegant delicacy of watercolor paintings and the ability to produce a remarkable tonal range. If Crystal Archive is Methusaleh, this is his older brother! Using the same high resolution scans as traditional materials that are fade resistant for 100 years.

There are two choices of watercolor paper :

  • “Angelica White” is smooth with a bright white hue
  • “German Etching” has a textured feel with a slight off-white tone
All are printed with a border and coated with a subtle lacquer for increased permanence. They should be framed unmounted but with a mat and under glass for protection. As with any piece of artwork, there should be no exposure to direct sunlight.
